The lights we use in our daily lives play a vital role in creating a pleasant ambiance. In Melika Sarraf's perspective, lights bring shine and hope, making them an essential element in our lives. The Sun project focuses on the coordination of gestalt principles with interior design, incorporating basic and primitive visual items.
The body of the Sun design is crafted from red Beech wood, providing a warm and natural aesthetic. The balance of the lights is maintained through the use of metal for the scale (leg). This combination of materials ensures both durability and visual appeal.
Measuring at 80*55*15 cm, Sun is designed to fit seamlessly into various environments. Whether it's a cozy cafe, a serene library, an art gallery, or a modern home, these lights will add a touch of elegance and sophistication.
Melika Sarraf embarked on extensive research to create a design that would bring visual pleasure to interior spaces while maintaining the essence of basic forms. The challenge was to create a lighting design that could effortlessly blend with other elements in different settings.
Sun has been recognized for its excellence in design and innovation, receiving the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures category in 2018. This award is a testament to the practicality, creativity, and professional standards upheld by the Sun design.
With Sun, Melika Sarraf has successfully created a lighting design that not only illuminates spaces but also adds a touch of elegance and sophistication. The combination of early modernism, Bauhaus principles, and the coordination of gestalt with interior design make Sun a unique and captivating addition to any space.
